San Carlos Mexico has several amazing beaches. The main beach is called Playa Algodones - Cotton Beach in Spanish because the dunes in the areas appear to be balls of cotton. The beaches in San Carlos offer year round aquatic activities such as swimming, snorkeling, windsurfing and scuba diving. This beach was made famous from the movie "Catch 22" staring Orson Welles and Martin Sheen in the 1960's.

Tetakawi Mountain Tetakawi Mountain
Tetakawi Mountain is the main backdrop of the town and is the first landmark you see when you head into San Carlos. Its name means Tits of Goat in the ancient Yaqui tribe language. Tetakawi Hill offers amazing flora and fauna as well as beautiful views of the beaches, mountains and marinas of San Carlos Bay. The hill itself is slightly more than 600 ft. high. and is a favorite area for hikers.
